Brown half leather with brown cloth boards. Folio. 598 pp., plus index. Black and white illustrations and plates throughout, as well as a few in color, although 3 color plates are MISSING. Volume 3 ONLY of this work on natural history, with this book focusing on snakes, turtles, spiders, lizards, fish, insects and crustaceans. With color plates depicting the soft turtle, bull frog and crab spider, among others, although LACKING the hermit crab, sea star and sea anenome plates. Black and white plates depicting the viper, anaconda, iguana, archer fish, trout and others present. FAIR condition, missing the aforementioned plates. Minor fading and soiling to the covers. Heavy scuffing to the leather along the extremities, with superficial loss and boards exposed at the corners. Binding cracked at the first endpaper. Minor toning to the paper.
