19 (4 5/8" x 7") full page or (4 5/8" x 15") double-paged watercolor paintings of Germany and Holland and a basic pencil sketch of the tomb of Massena in Paris and a few smaller preliminary sketches. Baron Christian Von Hayn was in the Palatinate and in 1845 purchased a large manor in Dambach from Andreas Brenner in Thannhausen. In 1868 he later noted that this was roughly a trip around the old parts of the Hanseatic League. Most paintings are identified in upper right hand corner (e.g., the Castle (Schoss) Johannisberg), other areas are the outskirts of Weisbaden, Emmerich (?), Schenkenschanz on the Rhein, The Toll House at Bruckhausen, The Petro Mango Alexander (the cabin of Peter the Great at Zaandam which Napoleon called "the finest monument in Holland"), Schoeningen (apparently out of place in order of trip), a recreation of when Wellington and Blucher met at Waterloo and [La] Belle Alliance was created on June 18, 1815 where there are several paintings. There is a pencil sketch of a man attempting to embrace a woman and she appears to be rather warning instead of condemning his advance. Several pages in ink note the major marshals of Napoleon's army suggesting he was making a tour of historical points of interest just a decade after his defeat (thus, the pencil sketch of Massena's tomb).
