Synopsis: The Ant in the Cellar is a collection of the whackiest, most fun-loving poems ever written narrated by an ant who lives in the basement of an imaginary house on an imaginary street in an imaginary town where day-to-day objects, animals, and people are not as normal as they appear. They are seen and described as the ant sees and describes them. Even adults will enjoy this wonderful story all done in terrific rhyme and it is absolutely hilarious. The inside is done in black and white but there are black sketches throughout the book on each story. This is a very endearing book for everyone four years to ninety years. Perfect for reading before bedtime or on a rainy day! It is done in 8 X 10 Trade Paperback and is due to be released June 1, 2007.
About the Author: Danielle started writing her children's book, The Ant in the Cellar, in the summer of 2004, as the Creative Writing teacher at a summer camp in West Philadelphia. Inspired by her students, her story paints a fantastical world through poetry, where a child's imagination is the only limit: The Ant in the Cellar. After graduating from The University of Pennsylvania in June of 2006, Danielle decided to remain in Philadelphia as a pioneering member of a new fellowship program, "Philly Fellows." Danielle spends most of her day at The PEACE Project, an alternative education program serving under-resourced Philadelphia students and participates in additional community projects to help improve the city she loves!
