About the Author:

Dennis E. Frye is the former Chief Historian of the Harpers Ferry Historical Park and is a founder and past president of the Association for the Preservation of Civil War Sites. He is also a founder and first president of the Save Historical Antietam Foundation. Dennis grew up astride South Mountain and began his National Park Service career as a teenage volunteer at the Antietam National Battlefield. Dennis has written and lectured extensively on The Maryland Campaign for the past two decades.
