About the Author:

Charles Shoemake, born near Big Foot Texas and educated at the University of Texas, managed and developed missile and tracking systems software for the aerospace industry. Spooks hovered above that opus. He forsook that sphere to write and develop The Butterfly Field near Thornburg, Virginia. Hobbies include gardening; building design, construction, and furnishing; shooting; writing; and art and antique collecting. He animates his female sculptures through prose and juxtaposition of complementary art and found objects. Charles and wife Ellen are currently constructing a nymphaeum on their 56 acre farm where flora and fauna flourish.
