About this Item

An archive of material related to the 1999 film, Deep Blue Sea, directed by Renny Harlin, beginning with the original 116 page revised shooting script dated, June 18, 1998, by Duncan Kennedy and John Zinman, with revisions by Simon Davis Barry, Michael Frost Beckner, Clemington McCarty Talkington, Jr., Donna Powers & Wayne Powers, and Charlie Mitchell. Bradbound in printed studio wrappers. Near fine copy with just a hint of use to the covers. With another slightly longer, 127 page, revised draft shooting script, dated just a month later (July 17, 1998), indicating the aforementioned contributions & revisions to the script, and adding current revisions by noted screenwriter, Akiva Goldsman. Bradbound in printed studio wrappers. Very good slightly used copy. Included is a 90 page set of storyboards from the director, Renny Harlin, dated July 23, 1998, for scenes #117, 118, 119, and 122. The storyboards are hole-punched, but not bound, and are in fine condition, except for the cover page which has a couple of faint spots. With 10 mechanically reproduced full color set design drawings, each measuring 17Ó x 11Ó. The drawings are of various sets used for the film, including research rooms and labs, passageways, and living quarters. All drawings are in fine condition. Deep Blue Sea starred Samuel L. Jackson, Saffron Burrows, Stellan Skarsgard, Thomas Jane, Michael Rapaport, Jaqueline McKenzie, and L.L. Cool J. The story follows the work of a group of medical researchers at a remote undersea facility where they have found a way to genetically alter the brains of sharks in the attempt to develop a cure for AlzheimerÕs disease. In the process, the sharks are becoming more and more intelligent, which eventually leads to some spectacular encounters between the scientists and the sharks, as the sharks strategize for their freedom. Included is a DVD of the film, the front cover of which shows the lovely partially submerged Saffron Burrows with the gaping and sharp tooth filled mouth of a shark just behind her. All in all a terrific group of materials for that somewhat limited, but always compelling, cinematic genre - shark movies!. Bookseller Inventory # 16114E
