Teal cloth with bright yellow and white lettering on front cover and spine, teal endpapers; thin line of rubbing wear, intermittent, across lower spine edge, but no corresponding impact on dw; slight wrinkling and one spot of wear at top right corner of dw spine corner, with no corresponding impact or wear at top spine itself; wavy line imprinted on rear cover, corresponding to line impressed on rear dustwrapper cover, impact carried through: no discoloration to rear dustwrapper, no tearing, must more or less tilt book for the mark to be seen in angled light, otherwise not intrusive to casual glance; slightly more visible on rear cover itself, as teal color of impression made is slightly lighter in color than most of the cover: describes much worse than it is, but there you have it; else As New: Now in mylar which forgives sins mightily. A rich exploration of the history of Armenian culture as seen through arts and artifacts.

About the Author:

Levon Abrahamian directs a research project at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, and is visiting professor of anthropology at Yerevan State University. His research interests include symbolic anthropology, mythology, and Armenian ethnography. He is author of many publications in these fields, including Primitive Festival and Mythology (in Russian).

Nancy Sweezy is a potter and Director of Country Roads, Inc., an organization which supports traditional arts. She is author of Raised in Clay which was written in collaboration with potters to study and revive North Carolina's Jugtown pottery. Country Roads has founded the Refugee Arts Group, which welcomes and supports the Southeast Asian community in Massachusetts, and the Armenia Cultural Project to develop and market crafting traditions in Yerevan. She is currently working on an exhibition and book entitled Spirited Objects: Traditional American Craft.

Sam Sweezy has specialized in the photography of art, architecture, cultural artifacts, and cultures for over 25 years. The images included in this book were made in 35mm and with a 6x9 cm view camera.
