Book Description A & C Black Ltd., London, 1911. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Major A.C.Lovett (illustrator). First Edition. We offer a sound copy of the original edition of this substantial sought-after title. The book is bound in blue decorative cloth with gilt titling and decoration to spine and front cover; top edge gilt. It comprises 224 pages including index with 72 full page colour plates (carefully collated), including frontispiece of His Majesty, the King-Emperor; there are also 19 smaller line drawings in the text. The condition of the volume is as follows: It is slightly bumped at head and tail of spine and on corners of the boards; small circular damp mark on bottom of front cover, adjoining the spine with slight loss of colour - but long since dried; neat previous owner's inscription in dark blue ink on the front pastedown endpaper - 'E.Betersori, 84 Napier Road, Southsea'; the endpapers are darkened and the foredge and bottom edge are a bit marked and foxed; there is some light to moderate foxing in the text - but hardly any on the colour plates. Notwithstanding detailed points noted, this is a pleasing copy, in reasonably bright condition for its age. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 001607
