Add to basketPanorama silver gelatin photograph [20 cm x 94 cm] / [8" x 37"] Age toning to extremities. Nice contrasts. Panorama photograph of soldiers from the 795th Quarter Master Company (Trucks) in three rows with the expanse of the Salt Flats behind them. Twelve of the officers are named beneath the title. Early photograph of the Wendover Air Base, that was constructed the prior year as a sub post of Fort Douglas. The base was activated three months before this image was taken, and took on a large strategic role with the United States' entrance into WW2, as it was the largest bombing and gunnery range - as well as remote, with its location on the western edge of the Salt Flats of western Utah.
