Huge hardcover, 366 pages in fine condition covered with a clear glassine dustjacket which has a little wear on edges. Covers green cloth, with large gold lettering and tipped in color illustration on cover. Frontispiece and dozens of full color illustrations are tipped in illustrations, plus 100's of black and white illustrations. Beginning with the history and development of the art, it introduces the reader to the 11 basic styles. Another large section is devoted to vases, materials, tools, and methods. Text and pictures explain how to keep flowers fresh, how to select and prepare both fresh and dried materials, and how to make the most effective use of them. 12 lessons in creating arrangements in the Moribana style follow. Finally there is a section devoted to advanced techniques of the art.
