About this Item

Revised and Enlarged Edition hardcover with dust jacket; grey boards with black lettering on the spine. Minimal bumping to the bottom spine edge and some shadowing on the front free end paper and inside board. Otherwise the book is in excellent condition. Hinges and binding are firm. While not numbered, there are approximately 126 pages with hundreds of sketches illustrating everything the text describes. The mylar-protected dust jacket has a yellow and white cover with purple lettering and a sketch of a nude woman. There is a 1" closed tear on the front cover and a 1/2" closed tear at the bottom of the back cover. There is also minimal chipping at two of the corners with a bit of rubbing at the flap creases. This book is an informative and helpful guide to those who want to learn to draw. It teaches the main principles of art in a simple constructive way including topics such as Perspective, Shading, Portraiture , Motion and Balance, and Figure Sketching. It also includes a list of all bones and a description of the muscles and their uses. It is a book that will give you hours of pleasure and a lifetime of satisfaction. A well-preserved copy of a book on the fundamentals of sketching that takes you far beyond the stick figures of your childhood ( and maybe your adult years as well). Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
