In 2000, Kinkade was chosen as the official artist for the lighting of the national Christmas tree at the White House. He lives in northern California. M. Stephen Doherty is editor-in-chief of American Artist. He serves on the advisory boards of several arts organizations and is a frequent judge at national art competitions. He lives in Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
