About this title

Synopsis:

Book by Rosenthal, Mark

From Library Journal:

On the occasion of the workshop's 25th anniversary, Gemini graphic arts in Los Angeles published a series of prints and multiples by 15 artists. Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, and others among the best-known artists working today were included. This volume presents reproductions of some of the pieces done for the anniversary and photographs of the artists working at Gemini over the years, as well as brief interviews with each artist by Mark Rosenthal ( Franz Marc , LJ 3/15/90). While this book will be enjoyable to interested lay readers and specialists in the field, neither the art nor the interviews are particularly groundbreaking. Readers interested in a history of Gemini should turn to Ruth Fine's Gemini G.E.L.: Art and Collaboration (National Gallery of Art, 1984).
