About this Item

Pages clean except for some spotting circa page 587 and toning at the endpapers; no owners' marks. The binding is square and secure, though relaxed at the back hinge; the leather spine shows a few spots of wear along joints and spine ends, and there are spots of rub-through at the leather corners, but the gilt titles remain bright, the leather supple; the mabled paper boards show considerable chipping around the edges and spots of surface rubbing, mostly on the front, otherwise clean and attractive. 764pp. Authors in this volume include Rebecca Harding Davis, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Charles Dickens, Harriet E. Prescott, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and more. Bookseller Inventory # 058852
