Small 8vo. Green cloth with broan lettering and pictorial stamping, pictorial dust jacket. xvi, 397pp. Frontispiece, illustrations. Near fine/very good. Jacket a bit edgeworn, with spine lightly sunned. Tight, most handsome first edition of this thick church history. Olson boldly signs the title page in blue ink and inscribes the half-title page: "Greetings and well wishes / to Mr Carl Tolpo from / his friend, the author. / Nov. 3, 1950." Carl Tolpo (1901-76) was a noted sculptor and painter best remembered for his Abraham Lincoln statuary and his Yellowstone paintings. An uncommon title, especially in the lovely d.j., and rarely seen signed. Bookseller Inventory # 38630
