About this title

Synopsis:

Aunt Dora's Legacy has all the memories of her life growing up in New Hampshire. Her family, her friends and all of her thoughts and insights into life are portrayed through her simple but elegant and heartfelt poetry.

About the Author:

She was born Dora Adelaide St. Laurent in the small town of Pittsfield, NH. She was the seventh child of an English mother and a French Canadian father. There were eight of them; that is, one older sister, six brothers and Dora. She was in the third grade of school, when she would jot down simple little verses. It was something she seemed to enjoy a lot. Off and on throughout the years she kept at it. After she married an old childhood friend, Ernest Raymond, she didn't write as much until later in her life . Dora Raymond was our Aunt and when she passed away we found out that she had written poetry her entire life. She started documenting her poems in 1942 when she was a teenager during World War II and continued throughout her life.
