One busy day, Mr. McCorkle comes looking for something called a "Roto-Spinner," and the children help Aunt Ippy find one among her boxes. It turns out to be a beautifully useless thing, spinning, beeping, ringing, and whirring. Greenblat's exuberant, brightly colored, full-page pictures are done in a naive, cartoon style, with flat paints, crayons, and colored pencils. They are well suited to the comic mood and simple plot.
