For obvious reasons all Jewish cookery books in German are scarce. The book is divide up into chapers: soups, sauces, salads, fish, meat, vegetables, Rice and Egg dishes, cakes and cookies, ice cream and sorbet, fruit juices and liquors, pickled veggies and fruit, and finally jams. Each chapter starts with a general introduction regarding quality and what to check before buying grocery, fish and meat, followed by general guides for cooking and the ritual obligations for a Jewish household. This book is one of the few popular Jewish cookbooks for everyday as well as fine cooking adhering to the ritual provisions. Includes index of recipes at rear. Text in German. Binding with some staining, foxing and rubbed. Joints of spine cracked, starting at front and back endpapers. Block with light foxing at foredge and lightly age-toned.
