The facsimile title page of the diary reads, 'A Journal of Each Day's Travel & Proccedings While Camping in the Plains in 1853 By W. R. Brown.' Brown set out on March 24 and arrived in Sacramento on September 30. The journal tends to keep to the facts, but describes many meetings with Indians, wildlife, and Mormons. Not located in OCLC.
