circa.1817-1828. Seven documents total: Four of the documents are related to Gorton's (d.1852) purchase of Black Point Farm for $5,500.00. Lyman Law (1770-1842), Connecticut Congressman (1811-17) may have represented Gorton in the transaction and one of the documents is signed by Law as a witness. Another document excuses Gorton from duty in the Connecticut Militia and is signed by Judge John Hyde (1828). Other signatures on the various documents are those of: Thomas Lathrop; Robert Gorton (2 times); Joseph D. Smith; L.W. Gardiner; and Moses H. Warren. Fine clean copies. Bookseller Inventory # 11975
