To E(ward) W(edlake) Brayley Jr. Returning a proof of Brayley's Memoir, and stating that he has nothing further to add to what he has already written on the subject of the solar eclipse recorded by Herodotus and that his calculations have been been confirmed by a German astronomer G. The letter has been folded, adressed and postal marked along with a red wax seal. Very good condition. Baily began as a stock broker but retired in 1825 and devoted the rest of his life to astronomy.
