To "My Dear Miss Paget": Inquiring of the daughter of the noted surgeon Sir James Paget as to her participation in the annual subscriptions for the "Holiday Guild" to be held at Burlington House and the subsequet visit of 35 students to the Royal Academy which he arranges and supervises. He asks her to join the "Ciceroni" (docent) and if she agrees he will come for a chat before the day of the proceedings. Signed J. C. Horsley. Fine condition. English historical painter and designer of the first Christmas Card (1843). He also led a fight to ban drawing, painting, and photographing the nude in Britian. Bookseller Inventory # 04184
