About this Item

8vo, singled sheet trimmed and with seperate piece (formally an integral part of the letter) glued to the top with the recipient's name "Geo. Vincent, Esqr." Undated but with "Newman Street, Thursday" written in lower left hand corner. Burnet moved to "Wells Street, Oxford Street" in 1818 which was just 2 blocks away from Newman. By 1822 he had moved to the Kentish Town neighborhood. The letter reads, "My Dear Sir, Will you do me the favour to dine in Sloane Square on Monday at 4 o'clock to meet Denning & some friends,- do you know if Wadmore will be in town then? Yours Sincerely John Burnet". Light soiling. Demming and Vincent were both painters. Wadmore at one time had in his collection Vincent's masterpiece "View of Grfeenwich Hospital".
