Two one-page letters, signed, dated January 21, 1925 and March 31, 1928. Lewis Melville was the pseudonym of Lewis Saul Benjamin (b. 1874 -- d. 1932). Lewis Melville was an English editor and biographer. He is respected as a literary historian and biographer. Among his works are biographies of Thackeray, Sterne and Smollett. In these letters he discusses the correspondence of Edmund Burke. He plans to edit Burke's letters but then withdraws from the project due to the pressures of other work. Seller Inventory # 3714
