Handwritten letter dated February 24, 1874. 1 page, 9 x 4 1/2 inches, folded in half and written on one side. Fold lines, some bleeding of ink from another letter on back. Thomas Wentworth Higginson (1823-1911) was a Unitarian minister and militant abolitionist who concentrated on writing after the Civil War. In this letter to "My Dear Warner (?)", he states that he wrote to Curtis (possibly George William Curtis) "asking him to take some note of the Intercollegiate Convention". The Intercollegiate Literary Convention was a competition between different college students held in Hartford, Connecticut, on February 19, 1874. George William Curtis (1824-1892) was an influential essayist and editor. Bookseller Inventory # 016370
