Typewritten letter dated January 10, 1848 from Gilmanton, New Hampshire. 1 page, 6 3/4 x 8 1/4 inches. William Cogswell (1787-1850) was a New Hampshire congregational clergyman and an author of several books on theology. He was also the founder of the "New Hampshire Repository" (1845) and the editor of the "New England Historical and Genealogical Register". In this signed form letter to Austin F. Pike, Cogswell asks for payment for issues of both magazines listed above that have been sent to Pike. Austin F. Pike (1819-1886) was later a U. S.
