About this Item

The wonderful English violinist (1891-1959), sister of the cellist Beatrice Harrison, was a student at the Royal College of Music in London. She studied with Arbos, Rivarde and Auer. At age 18, she took KreislerŐs place at a Mendelssohn Festival at Helsingfors, and in 1909 appeared with the Berlin Philharmonic. On a card, she has written out the first two bars of the solo part to the Brahms concerto, which she has identified. It is matted with a portrait of her playing the violin, and framed. (the card is 3 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches, the portrait is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches, framed to 8 x 10 inches) Very scarce. Bookseller Inventory # 1157
