The legendary country western singer and songwriter ("I Walk the Line," "A Boy Named Sue," etc.) whose meteoric career was rocked by addictions, inducted into three music halls of fame; like his coevil Elvis Presley, his posthumous popularity has only increased, due in part to the 2005 biopic "Walk the Line." AQS, irregular near-hexagon shaped 5" X 4½", n.p., n.d. [ca. 1965]. Very good. Five modest-sized (ca. ½") tape stains at corners, occasionally touching upon a couple letters. In bold blue ballpoint, Cash pens an original snippet of verse for an admirer: "Here's to You, / I Wish You Well / May Fate Smile on You, / Donald Burnell, / Sincerely, / Johnny Cash." Despite flaw and irregularly-trimmed shape, fairly attractive -- and definitely highly unusual. Accompanied by a superb glossy 7" X 9" publicity photograph from the 1974 television documentary "Johnny Cash Ridin' the Rails -- the Great American Train Story," showing Cash standing dramatically in the foreground on railroad tracks, which recede into the mountainous distance.
