Both stated first editions. Slipcase well rubbed with some soiling, some splitting and wear along seams. Original clear mylar dust jackets present but well rubbed with chipping and tears. Both hardcover, H 24.25cm x L 16cm, with black cloth spine and white cloth boards. Muted red top edges; ink signature and 1950 date of Philip Greeley Clapp on each volume's front free endpaper. Pages are otherwise clean and bindings are firm. Very good copies in good/good+ mylar dust jackets and a good+ slipcase with a relevant musical association to American composer, conductor, and pianist Philip Greeley Clapp (1888-1954) who served as Director of the University of Iowa School of Music.
