Description:

Vintage original 22 x 28" (55 x 70 cm.) half sheet poster style A. USA. Ray Milland, Maureen O'Sullivan, Charles Laughton, George Macready, Rita Johnson, Elsa Lanchester, dir: John Farrow; Paramount. Screenwriter-turned-director John Farrow showed a flair for the noir genre during the late-1940s, but he was very adept at various other genres including adventures, Westerns and musicals. For this story, the oft-maligned (in film) publishing boss frames his magazine editor with a murder he has committed. The poster is most effective with the big facial close-up and Ray Milland in an awkward situation in the foreground. The poster was folded in fours, has a few pinholes in the blank white margins, has noticeable edge wear at the top and bottom left sides including paper loss at the bottom left corner and border tears along three of the sides extending through the blank white margin only, including 6 along the top, 3 along the left side and 2 at the bottom, all reinforced with archival paper. VERY GOOD-FINE. Bookseller Inventory #
