Original 8" x 10 1/4" vintage single-weight glossy black & white publicity still photograph from the 1946 Warner Brothers Studios adaptation of Chandler's most famous novel, one of the most famous exemplars of American Film Noir. Directed by Howard Hawks from a screenplay by William Faulkner, Lee Brackett & Jules Furthman. This shot features Humphrey Bogart pretending to be a book collector as he seeks clues from equally fake bookseller Sonia Darrin at Geiger's Book Shop.
