Staple-bound stiff white paper covers, light abrasion lengthwise along spine, bump at center of fore-edge of front cover with light smudge of fingerprint soiling immediately above, mild rubbing, light soiling to rear cover. Three page introductory essay by curator Estill Curtis Pennington. Published for a September 27 to October 31, 1984 exhibition of b/w photographs by Birney Imes at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art. Twenty-four b/w images are featured on interior pages with one more of the front cover; most images show African Americans in either Lowndes County or various places in the Mississippi Delta. Celebrated as one of Mississippi's most famous photographers, Birney Imes also serves as the publisher of the Columbus, Mississippi newspaper "The Commercial Dispatch."
