Revised second edition INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR AS WELL AS SIGNED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR. [8], 234, [2] pages. Hardcover: H 21cm x L 15.75cm. Dust jacket rubbed with slight bumping at edges, negligibly small chip at front panel's lower left. Black cloth spine with vibrant metallic red stamped lettering; dark gray boards. Foxing to edges; short swath of yellow marker (publisher remainder mark?) on bottom edge. Laid-in at front endpapers is a bookmark for Jackson, Mississippi's Lemuria Bookstore featuring the shop's book-signing schedule for July 1989 with Ellen Douglas and Bebe Wolfe appearing Saturday, July 15th and thus presumably this is where and when this copy was signed. Title page has author's two-line ink inscription "For Carol | Ellen Douglas" followed by illustrator's two-line double signature "Elizabeth Wolfe | Ms. Wolfe!" Interior pages are otherwise bright and clean. Binding retains some crispness. A very good+ copy in a very good dust jacket. BLACK CLOUD, WHITE CLOUD was first published in 1963 by Houghton Mifflin-The Riverside Press.
