Original leather boards now detached, boards well scuffed and worn at fore-edge corners, loss to surface leather at top of rear board; spine leather perished with relatively modern crude clear tape repair overlapping spine and endeavoring to anchor boards at their spine edges. Needs to re-backed. Usual age toning to edges; antiquarian ink initials "J.K.A." written upon top edge; lacks initial blank leaves (front free endpaper and probably a flyleaf) as title/copyright leaf now directly opposes front pastedown. Rear flyleaf and rear free endpaper still present with former having some antiquarian ink blots. Moisture staining to early and late leaves; foxing and toning throughout; occasional pencil markings amongst text. Text block stressed at several points but binding is still reasonably firm.
