About this Item

This FIRST EDITION is in VERY GOOD+ condition with DUSTJACKET in VERY GOOD condition. Book's copyright page lists 1923 with no later dates or subsequent printings notating likely First Edition. Book has 11 whimsical stories illustrated with 11 full color plates including frontispiece in NEAR FINE condition plus Alice in Wonderland illustration is repeated on pastedown on front board and on front cover of dustjacket. Book is in VERY GOOD+ condition with light brown textured cloth binding with 7.5" x 8" color pastedown with bold black lettering stamped above and below and on spine. Book's spine tips and corners are true or gently bumped but not worn. Book has been "bitten" by something that has left two 1/4" indentations and creasing from same spot on outside edge of front and back board about 4" front top corner otherwise book is NEAR FINE. These marks came through similar marks on dustjacket where book may have gotten caught in some device. Binding and insides are tight, bright and clean. Previous owner's short ink inscription on top of title page otherwise there are NO other previous owner's or library markings, and there is NO FOXING. DW is covered by Brodart and unclipped although there is no price point on blank flaps inside. DW is in VERY GOOD condition especially at over 85 years old. DW has glossy cover with full color Alice in Wonderland illustration bright and complete inside of thick yellow framing with black thin triple framing around bold title and lettering. DW's spine tips and corners are bumped and worn with edge wear around including 1/8" chip across top tip and 1/2" x 1" triangular chip at bottom tip. Bottom corner on back cover has long tear from corner along edge and 2" tear and creases on back cover all repaired by previous owner with scotch tape that has darkened with age. There are small tears and attached chips on outside edges 4" from top corners as mentioned. Very collectible and handsome prints are ready to frame in this reasonably priced copy due to edge wear. BOYS AND GIRLS OF BOOKLAND, copyright 1923, approx 9.5" x 12", 100pp. Bookseller Inventory # 003132
