About the Bookseller

Better World Books is a for-profit social enterprise (with B Corporation certification) that collects books and sells them online, with each sale generating funds for literacy initiatives in the U.S. and around the world. Each sale also generates income for the libraries and student groups who entrust their books to us. The Antiquarian, Rare, and Collectible section lists thousands of books: each is manually priced and described by our (real, live) catalogers. You may find an esoteric text or a signed modern first edition; that ever-elusive facsimile or a truly rare book within our listings. Our offerings cover such fields as literature, art, science, history, criticism, and the many nuances thereof. We include books written in French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Greek, and Latin, with some Asian items as well. Having trouble finding a book? Looking for more information about a particular item? Please do not hesitate to contact us. Shipping Terms

Every volume from our Antiquarian, Rare, and Collectable Books collection is dispatched using the most rigorous of packaging standards: wrapped in brown paper and inserted into a sturdy, cardboard mailer. All materials used are 100% recyclable.

*Special note to our customers in Brazil, Greece, Italy, and Spain. Due to frequent problems with lost and delayed books to these countries through our normal carrier, we only offer expedited tracked shipping service through USPS or UPS. Shipping costs for these countries are therefore higher.
