This volume is essentially a book of copper engravings, Although the title pages of the original 1663 Elzevier Bible are present there is no biblical text. There are 8 Double-Page Maps, including 4 by Visscher, 2 by Luchtenburg, plus 3 full-page engraved illustrations, 1 by David van de Plaes (1647-1704), 1 Roomeyn de Hooge (1643-1707 )from Lindenberg's Edition of Luther's Bible ca. 1702 & 1 by Le Sueur; Plus 214 Plates printed on one side from Histoire du Vieux et du Nouveau Testament de Mortier (Mortier's Bible) with 2 Images on each page by Jan Goeree, Romeyne Hooghe and others. Captions in French & Dutch. Inserted before the title page is a double-page World Map engraved by J(ohannes) van Luchtenburg. First Title Page: Joannes Elzevier. Leyden 1663 by N(icolaes Pieterszoon) Berchem (1620-1683), engraved by (Adriaen) Matham (1590-1660). Second Title Page Johan. Elzevier Leyden 1663 Red & Black with Elzevier Vignette. The verso of this page is signed by Jacob van der Werve, followed by a double-page map, Orbis Terrarum, by N(icolaes) Visscher (1618-1679),a double-page map, the Biblical Middle East by Visscher. Third Title Page: De Boecken Genaemt Apocryphe/ Johan. Elzevier, Leyden 1663; Fourth Title Page Het Nieuwe Testament by Johan Elzevier, Leyden 1663. The front blank is signed by M.(Melancthon) Woosley Stryker(1815-1899)Pastor & President of Hamilton College. Deep Brown Moroccan Leather, 16 3/4" x 10 7/8" by Ringer.
