Hardcover. 12mo. Viii, 378 pgs. Half-title. With 76 illustrations in the text wood-engraved after Arthur Hughes. Edges gilt. Yellow endpapers. Bound in original orange pictorial cloth stamped in black and gilt. Similar to the First American Issue but lacking the "A. S." on the spine near the anchor. Previous owner's bookplate on the reverse of the front board, Previous owner's name inscribed on the FFEP and the date 1873 printed at the top of the right corner of the FFEP. Joints and extremities rubbed, spine ends bumped and scuffed. Text is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid. Photos sent upon request. 790; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 378 pages.
