About this title

Synopsis:

Getting Back to Me is your useful guide to recovering during that critical time just after your baby’s birth. Backed by current postpartum research, this book describes the physical changes your body has undergone and what to expect from these changes; provides solutions, tips, and movements that enhance healing, relieve pain and increase energy; and uses photographs of real moms to show you 12 simple exercises to promote faster recovery of both body and mind.

Discover How to:
Speed Healing of injured muscles with simple exercises you can start right after delivery
Reduce Stress and Fatigue using Mom-friendly, proven strategies and relaxing exercise movements
Strengthen Critical Areas affected by pregnancy and delivery- Pelvic Floor, Abdominal, and Back
Detect Depression Early- recognize signs of different types of depression unique to New Moms and how exercise can help reduce the symptoms

Backed by Experience and Research
Not only does Getting Back to Me include the experience of moms “who have been there,” it is packed with the research of more than 300 physicians, midwives, nurse practitioners, and scientists in the fields of Postpartum Health. It includes cited information gleaned from over 200 published primary research studies in subject areas from exercise physiology and nutrition to depression and incontinence.

Simple, Easy to Follow Movement Descriptions
25 photos with detailed descriptions of 12 gentle movements and exercises

Content Available the Way You Want it
Getting Back to Me is available in multiple formats including:
· Ebook for Kindle (which can also be read on computers, tablets, and smart phones by downloading the free Kindle Reading Apps)
· handy “purse-sized” paperback book (8.5” x 5.5”),
· and a soon-to-be-released downloadable audio book.

What Getting Back to Me Doesn’t Do
If you’re looking for an all-in-one comprehensive workout plan like a Stroller Strides® or Baby Boot Camp® style plan, Getting Back to Me is not the book you are looking for. While this book does contain exercises, they are designed for moms who have recently given birth to promote healing, provide relaxation, and regain muscle strength, rather than to dramatically increase overall fitness. Getting Back to Me is the “warm-up” that gets you ready for those more comprehensive “new mom/mom and baby” workouts.

Feel more like yourself today and get back to being you!

About the Author:

Wendy Du Bois (1967- ) grew up in the golden hills of California, but didn't become interested in fitness until "late in the game" at the age of 26 when she began running with her local community college cross country team. While finding her own way through the maze of learning about exercise and athletics, she discovered many other people along the way who had the same need she did: how to fit workouts into their lives. Inspired by this challenge, she obtained a master's degree in Kinesiology and became an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer. She continues to seek out ways to "Work It InŽ"- finding solutions to working fitness into our lives and capture her discoveries in words.
