About this Item

Folio. 80pp. One of 240 copies. When John Buckland Wright died in 1954 his studio contained a number of his engraved woodblocks, mostly those for which he had a particular fondness. This volume publishes "all the engravings of bathers or of women in watery landscapes and seascapes," comprising twenty-five plates printed from the original blocks. In addition, the introduction is illustrated with tipped-in prints and photographs. A beautiful volume, printed in black and blue ink by Simon Lawrence at the Fleece Press, and bound in quarter vellum and patterned boards by Smith Settle. A fine copy housed in a cloth solander box. This is the second in a series of four books on the career of Buckland Wright projected by the Press. Bookseller Inventory # 26833
