Synopsis: A mischievous little boy, Timothy Ashton, at a very young age, discovers there are significant differences between boys and girls. Unable to control his curiosity, he embarks on a mission to unravel the mysteries surrounding those differences.

On his quest, he stumbles across what may be the magical passageway into a girl s heart, but soon learns the path is thorny and fraught with danger.

Timothy is having trouble getting girls to like him and believes this mysterious passageway may be the key to turning his fortunes around. So, in order to learn the secret that most boys will never know, he decides to embark on a perilous journey of discovery.

He learns just enough, along the way, to get himself into one hilarious predicament after another. As a result, he constantly finds himself in trouble with his parents, incurring their strict religious punishment.

Finally in frustration, Timothy takes his plight to the local barbershop where the good old boys, who hang out there, are noted for advice on delicate matters unavailable anywhere else.

After entertaining themselves with his misfortunes, the oracle of the group gives his sage advice, in verse, and sends him on his way, further complicating Timothy's life.

Timothy s misadventures result in a fast, fun, entertaining read.

About the Author: Ken Jarman, the author of three novels, is currently working on his fourth. He was born in California s Imperial Valley near the Mexican border and writes about life growing up in the 1940s and 1950s there. His stories of rural Americana are written in a narrative style reminiscent of Steinbeck, Clemens and McMurtry.

Ken spent fifty years in the Telecom Industry telling his stories to family, friends and business associates. Since retiring, he devotes himself fulltime to writing his stories.

This is the first book in a series of five to be published about Timothy Ashton's adventures from his birth through high school.
