About this Item

Stereograph card. 7" x 3.5". Gelatin silver photographs mounted on thick card. Photographs printed name and a List of Views of Chesterfield on the verso, noting this as number 425. Town Hall and Academy. Light rubbing, near fine. A view of a steepled building (Town Hall?) and a large dormitory looking house. Of particular interest is a baseball game that is being played between the two buildings. A reasonably early baseball image, likely from the mid-1870s.
