The company was the result of a merger in 1928 between the Nestle and Lemur Companies. The Nestle line of products was developed by Charles Nestle, the inventor of the permanent wave machine. He opened a chain of beauty salons in the early 1920's which offered his growing number of cosmetic and beauty products, as well as pharmaceuticals and household preparations. *** This book explains the most advanced techniques of the time for hair care, coloring, and various types of styling. With numerous text drawings and four (4) two-sided plates with b&w photos of period salon equipment. *** Bound in green cloth boards and a ¼ black cloth spine with silver lettering and decoration. The covers have light wear and soil with spotting on both boards. The silver on the spine has partially flaked off with lettering still readable.
