He was co-head of the of the Fixed Income Finance Desk from 1995 to the JP Morgan takeover in 2008. What he was able to accomplish there may be overshadowed by his finding while sending his children to college. His goal is to bring attention and raise funds to research the rare neurological disease of Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS), which he was diagnosed with in 2007, and hopefully find a cure. He shares his life before, during and after Bear Stearns.

About the Author: David S. Marren was a Senior managing Director and 25 year veteran at Bear Stearns. He was Co-Head of the Fixed Income Finance Desk. He was diagnosed with PLS in 2007. He is happily married to his wife Caroline for 26 years. They have 4 children, Katie, Molly, Meg and Peter. He resides in Darien, CT and spends summers in Chatham, MA.
