About this Item

Translated by Emil Langyel. With an introduction by George N. Shuster, President of Hunter College. Karst (an assumed name) was imprisoned in Dachau in 1938 and 1939. Here he tells of life there, and mourns the loss of Austrian culture and identity. An important document of the early years of the Holocaust, when Dachau was an inhuman labor camp, but the "Final Solution" had not yet been put into effect. A fine copy, in a VG dustjacket, with considerable toning to spine and folds, and chips to extremities. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 007179
