About this Item

This 40-page stapled softcover is a scarce collection of short stories by T. Bruce Yerke who wrote as Carlton J. Fassbeinder. Copyrighted November, 1944, the cover wrap is a textured heavier cream-colored stock with a navy title "The Bedside Fassbeinder" on the front. Inside the pages are canary yellow and printed throughout in black ink except for the title page [facing the inside front cover] upon which the title and a thin border are printed in maroon ink. Note on copyright page Typography by Maliano. Introduction by Philip R. Bronson. Contains 8 stories: On Being Napoleon, Or Any One Else, For That Matter; Notes on the Euphonic Art; Reflections While Falling Backwards In A Swivel Chair; Notes on Suicide, Homicide, and Matricide, From the Cide; Some Research On The Problems Of the German Tourist In England; The Problem of The Salesman; The Truth About The Last Trip Of The Great Beelzebub; and My Experience As A Critique Grand, Or, Why I Hate the Stage. Interior is fine. Wrap has a mild vertical crease that slants diagonally from 1-1/2" in from the spine at the upper left of the front cover, down to the center of the bottom edge. This crease goes through the title text on the front cover, but doesn't affect readability. Booklet is free from any writing or markings. Tiny 1/8" hanging chip to spine at bottom, and 1/8"closed tear on outer edge of [blank] back cover wrap. Digital image represents actual booklet. Ships in 24 hours in a cardboard box.
