Boris Groys is professor of philosophy and media theory at the ZKM/Sentrum fur Kunst und Medientechnologie in Karlsruhe and the director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He has published widely on modernism and the avant-garde, and is the author of many books, including The Total Art of Stalinism, One the New: Essays on Cultural Economy and The Logic of the Collection. A regular contributor to Parkett, Artforum and Art in America, Groys has written about contemporary artists Ilya Kabakov, Fischli & Weiss, Douglas Gordon, Rodney Graham and Richard Prince.
