Dark blue cloth with tan cloth spine, gilt lettering. Covers worn and rubbed, mainly at the extremities, some overall persistent dustiness, tan spine cloth darkened and a little grubby looking, good hinges (front hinge neatly reglued), sound text block, slightly age-yellowed pages with very minor finger soil to the outer margins of a few pages, no names or other markings. . Book Description THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS, INC. PRESS, 1925. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. G/NoDJ. 11.5"W x 14.25"H x 1.5"THK. A heavy, and large hardbound book. Was copy of noted Illinois Architect Earl L. Confer. Owner's stamp is on lower right corner of title page. The book's exterior buckram binding suffers from foxing on front and back. A water stain at the top 1" of the spine exterior only. Interior and exterior of the boards and contents are not affected by water stain. Several pages are minimally affected by light foxing along those page's perimeter. Images are not affected. The 5 colored plates have a tissue front for each. 2 of the 5 colored plates have minor foxing in one corner and not affecting the image. Spine is a bit sunned. Internal pages are a bit yellowed and soiled along its perimeter but do not affect any of the images. The first bound section of the book (approx. 6 pages) internally is beginning to detach from the binding. Both front and back gutters are in good shape. The remainder of the book's binding seems to be sound. This publication was compiled due to the passing of Mr. Goodhue in 1924 and serves as a tribute to a person involved with the many aspects of design, art and sculpture. 5 colored plates with tissue overlay, 273 black/white plates of photos, drawings/sketches, book designs, graphic designs.
