1/45. Large atlas folio. Unpaginated. [21] loose plates, as issued. Original 3/4 cloth portfolio over paper covered boards, with gold lettering on front cover. This most impressive work is a compilation of 21 striking woodcuts by Bruno Goldschmitt, depicting scenes from the Old Testament. Each matted woodcut is protected with a tissue-guard and is signed by the artist. One of 45 copies of the Ausgabe II, with woodcuts on Imperial Japan, of which this is No. 33. Very minor rubbing and soiling on portfolio. Inside of front cover and flaps slightly foxed. Minor creasing with a tiny closed tear along inner margin of title-page, collophon and list of plates. First plate missing its tissue-guard. Sporadic and minor foxing on outer margin of some plates (not affecting woodcuts). Text in German, gothic script. Portfolio in overall good, interior in good+ to very good, plates in very good condition. Seller Inventory # 24996
