Makes use of the E. van der Hooght (Amsterdam 1705) edition. Does not contain punctuation marks. Comes with Hebrew and Latin page headings. Chapters are numbered with Hebrew letters and Roman numerals. The book is divided into sections, Pentateuch, early prophets, later prophets and Hagiography, with separate title pages before each section with the exception of the early prophets. In the back is a list of all the Haftorah readings in the yearly cycle according to both the Ashkenazi and Sefardi traditions. Signature of previous owners in the front free endpaper and title-pages. Cover worn and corners rubbed. Blue edges sunned. Some foxing to leaves, but very legible. Overall in good condition. Previously owned by the eighteenth century English preacher Robert Lascelles Carr, who served as curate for the parishes of St. Mary and St. George in Stamford. He received this book in 1763.
